The pages of the ‘gutka’ were found torn in a street around 7am. Paramjit Singh, a local, said people spotted the torn pages lying in the street and sounded the police.

Following this, members of Sikh organisations staged a protest and blocked the Jagraon-Raikot road. Police were deployed to avoid any untoward incident. The police diverted the traffic.

Tension prevailed in the area after the incident. A case has been registered against unidentified people.
