The representatives of Peoples Party of Punjab (PPP), the Youth Congress and Shiv Sena (Hindustan) also participated in the protest.

The protesters demanded the resignation of the minister from the state cabinet and a CBI inquiry into the Bhola drug racket case. The protesters also demanded that the government ensure free and fair probe in the case.

Sabha president Raminder Singh alleged that the government has been trying to save Majithia ever since the latter's involvement in the drug racket was exposed by Jagdish Bhola, the main accused in the case, a year ago.

"The government has proved that they are the ones who are providing shelter to drug smugglers in the state by not asking Majithia to resign or expelling him from the cabinet," he alleged.
