Just poverty was not the one obstacle he faced. He also had to take care of his ailing father, who was advised bed-rest for six months after meeting with an accident at his factory.

“After my father was advised bed-rest, I suddenly had to take responsibility of my younger brother and mother. Yet, studies remained my focus. I used to study hard in school and then sit in the library for extra practice. Then, I used to visit a private school to give classes on martial arts and swimming,” he says.

“There was never a single day when I did not revise what was taught in school.”

The IAS aspirant says that he is not satisfied with his marks and is now a little concerned on if he can make it to the Delhi University for his graduation. Interestingly, the multi-faceted youngster also won a bronze medal at Sky Martial Arts this year in National School Games organised by the School Games Federation of India.
