The arrangements for Sunday’s Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) are done. The conducting authority, Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), has instructions from the state government to keep it a smooth affair on December 13.
To guard the 333 examination centres and manage 1.73 lakh candidates, the education department is coordinating with the civil and police administration of several districts. The duration of each test is 2 hours and 30 minutes but the differently-abled students will get 50 minutes extra.
To ensure transparency and fair conduct, students are forbidden from carrying pens and wristwatches into the examination hall. Every centre would have wall clocks, and candidates can carry only roll number cards on them.
For candidates
Do’s
Reach the examination centre an hour in advance, bring admit card and photo-ID
Sign and make the left-thumb impression in the given space on the attendance sheet
Fill the details on optical-mark recognition (OMR) answer sheet and the OMR attendance sheet carefully
Candidates who are blind or without hands must carry the printout of the details of the writer on their nominated panel, along with the proof of the writer’s eligibility, besides the admit card.

Don’t carry any type of pen, watch, cell phone, pager, calculator or any other electronic device into the examination centre; violation may lead to expulsion and registration of a unfair-means case
Don’t sign or make thumb impression on the OMR answer sheet
Neither fold the OMR answer sheet nor make any stray mark on it
Don’t darken more than one option circle for any question, as that will be counted as wrong answer.
Timings
Morning test: 10am to 12.30pm
Evening test (for different candidates): 2.30pm to 5pm
Reporting time: 30 minutes before the start
Reporting time for staff on duty: 1 hour before the start
SMS alert: To be sent to candidates, to push them to get to the centre in time.
