The district Punjab Students Union members on Wednesday condemned the denying the backward and other backward class students' students of CT Group of Institutions from giving the house test examinations.

More than 40 B.Tech students from different disciplines were denied to sit in the test on Tuesday as they didn't pay the annual fee which is Rs 1, 60,000.

The students said that they had already paid Rs. 20,000 during admission fees and as per post metric scholarship they don't have to give the fees.

Jaswinder Singh Gill, deputy director welfare department of SC/BC informed that the OBC students get scholarship if the annual income of their parents is less than Rs. 1 lakh and they have to pay the fees to the college at the time of admission while the department reimburses the fees later and deposit it in their accounts.

The members of the union asked the college authorities to resolve the issue otherwise they would intensify their agitation.
