Punjab initiates upgrading of fire services

The Punjab government has initiated the process of upgrading its fire services at a cost of Rs 46.5 crore in order to deal with any emergency. As a consequence of these efforts, an order has been placed for buying 96 multipurpose fire vehicles.

Announcing this in a statement here on Friday, Anil Joshi, local bodies minister, said tenders had been finalised by the purchase committee constituted by the department. In accordance with it, the work of fabrication and supplying of 96 multipurpose fire vehicles had been handed over to Hyderabad-based firm Sri Taikon.
