Punjabi University fencers excelled and won all five gold medals in team events on the second day of the All India Inter-University fencing championship at the university campus here on Saturday.
In the foil team event (women), Punjabi University eves Sonalika Kaushal, Kavneet Kaur, Jasmine and Kamalpreet won gold medals, followed by Anna University, Chennai and Panjab University, Chandigarh.
In the epee team (women) event, the host stood first, with Kurukshetra University and Bangalore University coming second and third respectively.
Likewise in sabre team (women) event, the university struck gold, with Manipur University finishing second and Panjab University and RG University, Karnataka, jointly coming in at third.
In the foil (men) team, the host bagged gold, while Panjab University won silver and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad and GND University, Amritsar, won the bronze medal.
In the Epee team (men), Punjabi University won gold, while GND University, and University of Jammu finished second and third respectively.
