The radicals under the banner of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), United Akali Dal, SAD (1920) and SAD (Swatantar) will contest the Khadoor Sahib assembly bypoll scheduled to be held on February 13.
Passing a series of resolutions at the Maghi Mela here in Thursday, these parties, which had played a key role in organising the November 10 ‘sarbat khalsa’ last year, announced to hold a march from Tarn Taran to Khadoor Sahib on January 25 and 26 to draw support for their candidate.
Pro-Khalistan slogans were raised by radical elements at the mela.
Lambasting the SAD-BJP government, the radicals said fake cases (of sedition) were slapped on those who had organised the November 10 congregation and demanded their release.
In their resolutions, radicals also sought release of Sikh prisoners languishing in jails across the country after completing their prison term.
Announcing to hold an international Sikh conference at Fatehgarh Sahib on February 12, the radicals said protest marches will be held across the state in March and a schedule in this regard would be announced on February 12.
Besides this, they also announced to form a human chain from Bargari to Faridkot on February 27 seeking justice for victims of police firing at Behbal Kala village in October last year.

{{/usCountry}}The radicals said preparations for the Bathinda sarbat khalsa to be held on Baisakhi in April have started.
The speakers, including SAD (A) chief Simranjit Singh Mann, said they are trying to rope in organisations which didn’t take part in November ‘sarbat khalsa’ for the Bathinda event.
They said through a series of actions they would highlight the issue of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib, government’s failure to take action against those responsible for opening fire on protesters in Behbal Kalan that resulted in death of two persons, agriculture crisis that is forcing farmers to commit suicide and issues related to Dalits.
The speakers lambasted the Punjab government for loss of cotton crop due to the whitefly attack and demanded proper probe and action against all in the pesticide scam.
