While interacting with mediapersons here after distributing 356 bicycles to the girl students of Shaheed Captain Amardeep Singh Government Senior Secondary School, Majithia said Rahul’s recent visit could be seen in this light as he has tried to re-launch the Congress party in Punjab on the pretext of sympathising with Sikhs over the recent sacrilege incidents.

“What moral ground do you have to shed crocodile tears over the incidents of sacrilege when your grandmother Indira Gandhi was responsible for destroying thousands of “birs” during Operation Bluestar,” Majithia asked.

He also accused the Gandhi clan of deliberately denigrating Sikhs, Punjab and Punjabis by using various political tactics and said now Rahul was out to add fuel to the unfortunate incident of desecrations in Punjab.

Earlier Majithia visited the villages, including Daddian, Kotla Gujjran, of his constituency where he gave away the cheques of grants worth Rs 23 lakh and Rs 37 lakh, respectively, for development purposes.
