The police, meanwhile, have taken two of the four accused, Balwinder Kala and Lakwinder Singh, on remand for two days.

Mansa superintendent of police Raghuvir Singh Sandhu said, “The woman claims that she arrived in Budhlada in Mansa on Monday after being invited by Ramandeep Kaur of Budhlada. She met Ramandeep in New Delhi while she went there after having a dispute with her family.

Ramandeep was not in the right mental state and the nurse took her home. Later, when Ramandeep came back to Budhlada, the nurse allegedly got a call from Balwinder Kala, Ramandeep’s brotherin-law.

Balwinder convinced the nurse that Ramandeep was not keeping well and needed treatment from her.

Following this, the nurse came to Budhlada from where she was picked by Balwinder and taken to a place where three other men were present. She was gangraped and later dropped near the railway station.”

The police said they were also investigating whether she worked as a nurse at Safdarjung hospital in Delhi as per her claims. “We will verify all information and will send our team to New Delhi on Thursday,” the SP said.
