Residents block road over water shortage in Jalandhar
Residents of Kot Sadiq locality in the city on Sunday blocked Kala Sangha road while holding a protest against the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar (MCJ) since they have not been receiving drinking water for the past few days.

The protesting residents claimed that it was becoming difficult for them meet their water need amid the scorching heat.
They said frequent power cuts had added to their woes and asked the administration to supply water immediately since they were forced to fetch water from other localities.
The protesters, including women and children, carrying empty buckets, chanted slogans against the administration. They blocked the main road for an hour.
They said even as they had logged a complaint with the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar in this regard but to no avail.
Meanwhile, residents of Mann Singh Nagar near Guru Nanak Dev University’s (GNDU) Ladhewali regional campus complained of receiving contaminated water on Sunday. They said the water was black and yellowish in colour.
