The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Singh, who was a dera follower from the same village.

Those injured are dera head Sonia and her other followers Parminder Kaur, Sham Lal, Raman, Joginder Pal and Ravinder Singh, all residents of Jandu Singha.

Adampur station house officer (SHO) Gopal Singh, who is also the investigating officer, said on receiving information, he along with a police team rushed to the spot and took the victims to Jalandhar civil hospital.

He said Sandeep was pronounced dead on arrival.
