Five unidentified persons armed with weapons and their faces covered robbed cash at gunpoint from sugar businessman Rajeev Munjal’s house on November 2.

The alleged robbers remained at the house for half an hour. They tied Munjal’s mother, children and servants and taped their mouths.

Besides DCP Naveen Singla, the investigation team comprises additional deputy commissioner of police (crime) J. Elanchezhian, assistant commissioners of police Som Nath and Tejbir Singh Hundal.

The team went to Munjal’s house on Friday and Saturday and recorded the statements of family members.

A few days back, station house officer of police station-2, where the case was registered in this connection, was also shifted to traffic wing. Sub-inspector Jiwan Singh has been deputed as SHO there.
The police have not yet got to know the exactly robbed cash as the complainant has not mentioned any amount in the FIR.

Munjal’s white Swift Dzire (PB08-BP-0136) that was picked by the robbers on the day of robbery was found abandoned near Income Tax Colony on November 6.

The police had picked three persons, including one of Munjal’s servants, interrogated them for several hours, but to no avail.

The police had also collected the CCTV footage from adjoining houses in which a police jeep was also seen.
