A few days after the joint director of the health department inspected the civil hospital here, district Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Satish Goyal followed suit, which has not gone down well with some employees, who are fuming over his inspection.
Goyal, along with 17 associates, visited the civil hospital on Friday and inspected various departments. He met patients and enquired about the facilities available at the hospital.
Members of the Employee Welfare Association are enraged over the issue as they claim he doesn't hold any constitutional authority to conduct inspections.
"Who is he to conduct such inspections? He is neither an MLA nor an IAS officer. He even occupied the chair of the senior medical officer (SMO), which is a humiliation to the post. The SMOH himself allowed this to happen. Goyal doesn't even have any written orders," said an employee of the hospital, on condition of anonymity.
The employee further said the deputy commissioner was scheduled to visitr the hospital on Friday. However, the DC did not visit the hospital.
Nishan Singh, SMO of the hospital, however, denied the allegations and claimed that it was a regular visit by the BJP chief. He said: "They are trying to create a mole out of a mountain."

{{/usCountry}}When contacted, Goyal said he had prior orders from the health minister to conduct such inspection.
He said: "I was asked by the health minister to gather reports about the facilities available and send it to him."
However, he avoided a question on the capacity in which he had conducted the inspection.
The Mulazim Sangharsh Committee, which raises issues concerning the hospital employees, has decided to discuss this with senior authorities.
The civil surgeon and the health minister could not be reached for their comments.
