SAD rebels, 3 Karwal brothers outnumber all in Adampur

Making history of sorts, three brothers contesting as rebel SAD candidates from Adampur municipal council won their seats, giving a huge setback to the ruling SAD-BJP, particularly to local Akali MLA and chief parliamentary secretary Pawan Kumar Tinu.

Making history of sorts, three brothers contesting as rebel SAD candidates from Adampur municipal council won their seats, giving a huge setback to the ruling SAD-BJP, particularly to local Akali MLA and chief parliamentary secretary Pawan Kumar Tinu.

Not only did Ranjit Singh Karwal, 52, Darshan Singh, 50, and Harjinder Singh, 46, who own a gas agency and contested on LPG cylinder as their symbol, win by a thumping majority, but their group of independent candidates, with the support of the Congress, BSP and AAP, managed to win six of the 13 seats here.
