The party workers led by chairman of District Planning Committee Gurcharan Singh Channi gathered in front of the police commissioner's office and started raising slogans to demand the immediate arrest of the BSP workers. The party leaders also submitted a memorandum to commissioner of police Ishwar Singh in this regard.

Meanwhile, when contacted, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Rahul S told Hindustan Times that on the basis of video recording of the protest laid by the BSP workers on November 19, all the identified BSP leaders have been booked under National Highway Act.

“About a dozen names of the BSP leaders have been included in the FIR and all of them will be arrested soon,” the DCP said, without revealing the names of the booked BSP leaders.

“Accused Bittu was arrested on December 7, but still the police are in no mood to arrest the BSP leaders,” SAD leader Channi said.
