
Salesman burgles mobile showroom, held
The Division Number 2 police claimed to have arrested a salesman for stealing expensive mobile phones, tabs and accessory on Thursday. Police have recovered the stolen articles worth `3.25 lakh from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Rakesh Kumar of Moongfali Mandi, Miller Ganj. Hailing from Peeda village of Palia in Uttar Pradesh, the accused was working as a salesman at a mobile showroom, Sanyium Enterprises, at Miller Gunj.
Showroom owner Mahinder Setia had filed a police complaint about the burglary incident at his showroom on intervening night of February 10 and 11.
Setia told police that unidentified burglars have stolen eight expensive mobile phones and tablets and accessories.
Inspector Davinder Chaudhary, station house officer at Division Number 2 police station, said police initiated the investigation and zeroed in on the employees of the showroom.
The accused confessed that he orchestrated the theft and opened locks by broking into the showroom through the roof. The accused will be produced before the court on Friday.
