'Sangman-20', a gathering of as many as 40 eminent writers from all over the country, began here on Sunday. Veteran writer, Giriraj Kishor presided over the function.
The eminent writers focused and discussed on the topic of “It is time to need comprehensive study on social and literary creativity”.
Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi, professor Anand Pradhan, in his speech, said at present poor and minority people were missing in modern literature where literature should stand and deliver truth and justice to the deprived section of the society.
“I am surprised and shocked to see that 1984 riots against Sikh community, Bhopal gas tragedy, demolishing of Babari Masjid or Gujarat riots have no place in modern and creative writing and if we will not represent these incident then how can we say that creative literature really responsible for social changes and mind set of people to think about suffered people” said Pradhan.
Eminent journalist, Alok Shrivastav said more recently philosophers of various stripes had taken different and less hostile approaches to literature where the relationship between ideas in the human mind and the world existing outside the mind, if in fact such a world exists.
“He said modern rich people's world using media as a tool and the concept and philosophy on which our ancestors fought war for freedom now have changed in 21st century and globalisation slowly destructing our ancient and traditional recognition of relationship and brotherhood and thus the role of literature, creativity and writers is more important.” said Shrivastav.

{{/usCountry}}He added that the most worrisome part of the modern 'uncontrolled' and personalised era of grabbing opportunities had worsened the situation and people now dividing martyrs on their caste, creed, religion and birth place names and it was the last degradation of moral values of a society and writers have to play major role in controlling such evil philosophy.
Eminent philosopher and story writer, Sunder Lohia stressed upon the kind of writing that could help people to understand traditional values of our culture and said that only the particular understanding can convert a society into a progressive society.
Noted critics Vinod Tiwari, Mukesh Verma and Niranjan Dev also delivered their speeches on the occasion.
