SC corporation provides Rs 2.41 cr loan to 357

The Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation has provided loan of Rs 2.41 crore to 357 below poverty line (BPL) persons with a subsidy of Rs 19.20 lakh in last three years. Disclosing this here on Monday, Deputy Commissioner KS Sangha said district unit of corporation has provided loan of Rs 54.25 lakh with 8% interest to 192 beneficiaries under loan scheme through various banks.

He said the loan facility was being provided by the Punjab government to SC candidates for setting up their own ventures, shops, business etc. He said Rs 1.61 crore has also been provided to beneficiaries under the direct loan scheme to 165 beneficiaries in the district. He said the desirous and deserving candidates, who want to run their own business, can avail the loan facility of Rs 10,000 to Rs 3 lakh with an interest rate of 8%.
