After strenuous efforts and investigations of five days, a police team led by inspector general of police Anil Kumar Rao has cracked the kidnap mystery of a 14-year-old school boy with the arrest of eight people.
The suspects were arrested by joint team of police from Rohtak, Jhajjar and Sonepat from the Bagpat area of Sonepat district on Tuesday.
Parichay Malhotra, a Class-11 student, had gone missing on May 15 around 8 am after he left his Kalanaur home in his car for school. His car was found abandoned from Mokhra road near Basana village in the district. On the complaint of the boy's parents, a case was registered in Kalanaur police station.
On the basis of a lead from reliable sources about the movement of the abductors, police nabbed two suspects, Rohit alias Ravit alias Pandit alias Surender Pal, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, and Sandeep, son of Kartar Jat and a resident of Daboda district, Jhajjar, from Paldi police check point under Sonepat police jurisdiction.
Conducting another raid, the police nabbed other suspects from a house in Uttar Pradesh. IGP AK Rao said the kidnappers would drug the boy using injections to keep him in an unconscious state and changed the location frequently to avoid being detected by police. He said the police have recovered two pistols, one countrymade pistol, needles, syringes and two cars from the possession of the suspects. They would be produced in a local court on Wednesday, he added.
