As soon as the news broke out in the morning that Guru has been hanged in the high security Tihar Jail, the BSF officials sounded various officials and jawans were told about the situation and asked to be extra cautious.

Since there is always a possibility that some miscreants from across the border may react, the BSF also deployment extra men at key locations along the border.

Other than this, keeping in mind the security aspect and checking that no sloganeering happens at the evening retreat ceremony at the Attari Border, the BSF also deployed extra jawans in the retreat area.

Talking to HT, a senior BSF official said, "Although this border is peaceful but still no chances can be taken. The concerned battalions have been told to step up vigil."

The official said the extra vigil would continue for another 3-4 days and the situation would be reviewed again.

Notably, when Mumbai attack convict Ajmal Kasab was hanged, the BSF had heightened the security along the Indo-Pak border.
