In reply to a question about drubbing the Congress received in the elections of four states, Selja said, "The party is looking into the factors that led to this situation and necessary steps are being taken. I am sure that the UPA will again form government at the Centre after the Lok Sabha elections. There is much difference between elections of Lok Sabha and state assembly. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has already asked the party workers to return to the masses with new enthusiasm and try to know their problems and sentiments."

To a question about the Aam Aadmi Party's performance in the Delhi polls, she said, "It won't have much impact on the Lok Sabha elections." Commenting on development of Haryana, she said, "We have already placed our suggestions for equal development of districts and employment opportunities to all before the party high command."
