In his letter, Vijay Kumar Arya, a retired Subedar Major from Indian Army and a resident of Phase 2, here, said a theft had taken place at his under-construction house on December 10 and the thieves, among other things, had decamped with the sewing machine.

Arya said the family was emotionally attached to the sewing machine as it was gifted by his in-laws to his wife at time of their marriage about 40 years back. “My wife has fallen sick after the theft of the sewing machine,” the letter read.

Arya urged the deputy CM to do the needful so that family gets the machine back as it was very close to his wife’s heart.

He said police were showing little concern about the theft of family’s ‘prized possession’.
