Students of Government Girls' Senior Secondary School, Paonta Sahib, in an anonymous complaint to the directorate had alleged that many girl students were being harassed by certain staff members of the school following which the directorate constituted a three-member team headed by officer on special duty (OSD) Saroj Chauhan.

The inquiry team on Thursday recorded the statements of nearly 100 students over the serious allegations.

Sources said serious allegations of sexual assault and making of MMS had been levelled against certain staff members of the school. Members of the inquiry team arrived at the school on Wednesday and started taking the statements of students. It is also being inquired if some members of the staff were also involved in consuming liquor on the school premises at odd hours.

Similar allegations were also levelled by a girl student in 2005, but the probe had given a clean chit to the accused.

Sources also said the anonymous complaint was sent to the governor after which the directorate constituted a high-powered committee to enquire into the matter. The report of the probe would be submitted to the director, the inquiry officer told mediapersons at Paonta Sahib.
