Even though the Dhuri police have registered a case against five persons regarding the mysterious deposit and withdrawal of thousands of rupees in the bank account of around 250 Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) workers of Rajomajra village, not even a single accused has been arrested till date.
The police have registered a case under Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 120B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) of IPC at Sadar Police station on December 13. Police have also booked Pritam Kaur wife of Gurjant Singh, Baljit Kaur wife of Gurdeep Singh and Manjinder Kaur residents of Rajomajra village on the complaint of MGNERGA worker Harbans Kaur.
Police also incorporated one employee of State Bank of India (SBI), Deepshikha and her husband Mohit Garg of Dhuri. According to police officials, Mohit played a major role to convert black money into while money using the accounts of poor labourers after demonetisation.
The said labourers got to know about the deposit only after getting passbooks in the first week of December.
The labourers had alleged that the three accused women along with the officials of SBI, Dhuri, asked them to submit their passbooks and then handed back to around 15 labourers few days later. People were told that they will get a sum of ₹50 thousands per head,issued by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in their accounts. As a group of labourers received their pass books, they found that thousands of rupees were deposited and withdrawn from their accounts.

{{/usCountry}}According to MGNREGA workers the representatives of bank took their thumb impression on five withdrawal forms in advance. They alleged that there are two separate entries on their passbooks first is of Rs 10,000 on November 25 and the second is on December 1 of Rs 24,000 which were later withdrawn.
“Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused but they have left their residences,” said Palwinder Singh, station house officer (SHO), Sadar police station, Dhuri. “The accused will be arrested soon” said SHO Singh.
