“The BJP is going through a power struggle between two factions. Shanta's statement reflects that it was given under political compulsion to prove his dominance in the party,” said Virbhadra while talking to mediapersons at Nurpur.

On the issue of selection of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Virbhadra said candidates' ability to win would be the main criteria, and the Congress high command had already started the process.
“The names could be declared anytime now,” he said.
