It was the last paper of the final examinations of different courses being run on the campus and the students were excited about leaving home for vacation.

"It was not less than a shocker for us, when we were told on Friday afternoon that examination for Saturday has been cancelled. The visit of Sharif was well-planned in advance, but we were informed within a short notice," rued Amandeep Singh, a student.

President, Punjab Agricultural University Students Association (PAUSA), Karanvir Singh alleged there is nothing wrong in postponing the examinations but the authorities should have done it well in advance.

Meanwhile, the preparations for examinations remained disturbed for the second consecutive day because of commotion created due to high security vehicles and movement of cops.

On Friday, due to security and parade rehearsal by cops for the visit of Sharif, the preparations for the examinations were hindered.

Three choppers carrying VIPs from Pakistan and chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and deputy CM Sukhbir Badal also landed on the PAU grounds.

The exam is now scheduled to be on December 17.
