SHO’s vehicle among 100 issued fines

More than a 100 vehicles, including one driven by an SHO, and another by the son of a deputy superintendent of police were challaned in a special drive against traffic violations over the weekend and on Monday late night. The traffic police and the district transport office jointly conducted the drive.

The traffic police and the district transport office jointly conducted the drive. On Monday, the drive held on the Ferozepur Road near the Gurdev Hospital.

During the drive, the police team stopped the car of inspector Gurpreet Singh, posted as SHO, NRI police station and found the officer to have installed black curtains on the window of the car.

ADCP traffic Gurdeep Singh challaned the SHO for the offence. He told the officer, “If a police officer will violate rules, then it becomes difficult to stop the common man.”

On Friday, the police stopped a Ford Endeavour being driven by son of DSP Ranbir Singh, who is deputed in the office of the CM and was sporting a blue beacon. The beacon was removed and the vehicle challaned.

However, there have been reports that ACP (North) Dharuv Dahiya has been blasted by his seniors for challaning the car of a high court judge and the same was cancelled.
