Baljit Singh Daduwal, who heads Panthic Sewa Lehar, said, “We have invited all Sikh groups and are expecting a gathering of 2,000-3,000 people. The police are yet to make any arrest in the killing of two Sikhs at Behbal Kalan.”

“Capt Amarinder Singh had promised that those behind these sacrilege incidents and the killing of two Sikh men will be behind bars within 40 days of his party coming to power. The cops behind the firing incident have not faced any legal action,” Daduwal said.

Krishan Bhagwan Singh (42) of Behbal Khurd and Gurjeet Singh Bittu (26) of Sarawan village had died in police firing at Behbal Kalan in 2015.

Prabhjit Singh (20), son of Krishan Bhagwan Singh, said the family hasn’t yet received any invitation for the event.

Nearly 400 cops will be deployed to ensure law and order during the ceremony. To avoid any trouble, police teams from adjoining districts reached Faridkot on Monday. Flag marches will be held before the event, an official said. Faridkot SSP Nanak Singh said, “We will have a tight security on the occasion to ensure peaceful proceedings.”
