The delegation was led by Amar Singh who runs a music academy in Birmingham and imparts training and knowledge on gurbani and its relations with traditional musical instruments.

From here the pilgrims will depart for Paonta Sahib and then to Hemkunt Sahib, where again they will pray for the Oak Creek victims.

"We come to India almost every year on a pilgrimage to Hemkunt Sahib and other shrines. However, this year we have come to offer prayers for the Oak Creek victims," said Amar Singh while talking to Hindustan Times outside the Harmandir Sahib.

Describing the Oak Creek case as a very tragic incident, he said there was no room for such hate crimes in any part of the globe. He said it was very important that the Sikh community the world over engaged itself in explaining its separate and unique identity.
