Sirhind trains diverted after Ambala accident

The trains passing through Sirhind railway station were either cancelled or diverted to the Morinda-Chandigarh route on Saturday following the derailment of a goods train at the Ambala cantonment

The trains passing through Sirhind railway station were either cancelled or diverted to the Morinda-Chandigarh route on Saturday following the derailment of a goods train at the Ambala cantonment.

Passengers at the Sirhind station were left waiting as the schedule of trains was affected following the goods-train accident at Ambala which occurred at around 8.30 am.
Sirhind station superintendent RP Sharma said that trains heading to New Delhi and Kolkata had to be stopped at Sirhind, Mandi Gobindgarh or Rajpur stations.

A total of six passenger trains were cancelled and Shatabdi Express, Delhi Superfast, Malwa Express, Nangal Dam-Kolkatta Express, and Sachkhand Express trains were among those diverted via the Morinda-Chandigarh-Ambala line, he said. All trains towards Amritsar were also diverted through the same route.
