Speaker reviews arrangements for winter session of state assembly

Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha speaker BBL Butail on Tuesday presided over a meeting of officials to review arrangements for the state assembly's six- day winter session starting here from December 16. The meeting was held at the State Assembly Complex at Tapovan near Dharamsala.

The assembly session will concluded on December 21.

Butail stressed upon coordinated working of various departments to make the session success and also issued directions to the officials to ensure proper power and water supply, sanitation and law and order arrangements.

The speaker further said all officials and vehicles would be issued entry cards and no vehicle or person would be allowed to enter the Vidhan Sabha complex without these passes.

“This time a sitting will also be held on Saturday. Earlier, it used to be an off on the day,” said Butail. He said till now the administration had received 176 starred and 66 un-starred questions to be asked during the session.

“Most of the questions are from the opposition and a healthy discussion is expected during the session,” he said.

The meeting was attended by deputy commissioner C Palrasu, IG police, north zone, Rakesh Aggrwal, superintendent of police (SP) Balbir Thakur and various district and departmental officials.
