State district health department collects 13 samples of food items

The district health authorities today collected 13 samples of food items from different shops in various areas of the region. The health department team also issued instructions to the food joints and shopkeepers to maintain proper hygiene standards.

The health department team including district health officer Dr Ashwani Sondhi, food safety officers Dr Harjotpal and Dr. Sukhrao Singh collected the samples.

Dr RL Bassan, civil surgeon informed, "We collected 13 samples of food items including four samples of pulses, paneer, white flour, noodles, biscuits, salt, cane sugar, rajmah, white chana and groundnuts from Gulab Devi Road, Sabzi Mandi, Maqsudan; Kapurthala road, Rama Mandi and Avtar Nagar road".

He added that they have issued instructions to the food joints and shopkeepers to take care of sanitation and maintain proper hygiene standards in their respective workshops.
