Talking to Hindustan Times, Bhuvnesh's aunt Sunita said when she talked to a teacher on the phone on Tuesday, he told her that a scuffle had taken place between Bhuvnesh and other boys outside the school last week.

"However, when we met the teacher in the school on Wednesday, he feigned ignorance of the matter in front of vice-principal Neetu Arora," Sunita said. She alleged that the school authorities were pressing Bhuvnesh's classmates not to speak about the scuffle.

Bhuvnesh's grandmother Lakshmi Devi said she had come to know about the scuffle from Bhuvnesh's friends, but the school authorities were in the denial mode.

When HT asked Arora about the incident, she expressed ignorance of the clash between students, even as she claimed that Bhuvnesh was fond of costly things.

Bhuvnesh, a student of St Soldier School, Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar, had committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in New Jawahar Nagar here on Tuesday. His mother, Geeta Chauhan, works a domestic help in Kuwait.

His classmate, Ankit, had told HT that a scuffle had taken place between Bhuvnesh and other students outside the school on Friday. Following this, a boy named Jatin had been rusticated, he said.
