Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Sunday charged Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders of not caring about religious tenets and national security.
Addressing mediapersons after paying obeisance at the Golden Temple, Sukhbir said AAP leader Bhagwant Mann’s act of recording and sharing the Parliament video endangered the security of the apex House, and was not expected of an elected representative.

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president said if any MP belonging to his party had committed such a “blunder”, the party would have taken strict action against him. “Instead, the AAP leadership has sprung up to the defence of its parliamentarian,” he said, while claiming it pointed to AAP’s links with radicals.
Punjab revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia, too, condemned the Sangrur MP for putting “national security at stake” and demanded his resignation on Sunday.

Addressing a gathering in his constituency, Majithia said the comedian-turned-politician had committed a great folly to gain publicity. He said all parliamentarians and citizens have taken a serious notice of this “shameful” act.
