"The surfacing of such audio CDs is not new in the state's political history. In the past too such fabricated CDs have surfaced with purported conversations of senior leaders, including Virbhadra Singh, indulging in illegal financial transactions. However, they could not stand trial in the courts and the petition of the prosecution was thrown out by the sessions court and a clean chit given to the accused during the previous BJP regime," he said.

"The timing of the surfacing of this audio CD is very much questionable as there are rumours of internal dissidence within the ruling dispensation, which is nothing but a concoction of the opposition to create imbalance in the government as they are issues to take on the government. They are indulging in such cheap gimmicks," Vikramaditya added.
