Suspected dengue patient dies, 9 more suspected cases reported

A suspected dengue patient died at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana on Wednesday. Baljeet Kaur, 40, was a Hoshiarpur resident. Her sample was sent to Civil Hospital for confirmation of dengue. But the report has not come so far.

Baljeet Kaur, 40, was a Hoshiarpur resident. Her sample was sent to Civil Hospital for confirmation of dengue. But the report has not come so far.

Meanwhile, nine suspected dengue cases were reported on Wednesday.

Out of the nine patients, three are from Ludhiana and one each from Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur, Sangrur, and Fazilka. The other two are from Himachal Pardesh and Haryana.

This was informed in a press release issued here on Wednesday. The patients are under treatment at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital Ludhiana. A total of 99 dengue cases have been reported this year from various city hospitals.

Out of the 99 cases, 44 patients were from Ludhiana and the remaining from other districts of Punjab and other states. Dev Kumar, Ramandeep Singh and Mohan Singh belong to Ludhiana.

Meanwhile, the health department team while conducting checks has found larvae in a tyre and a cooler at two places in Model House area, which were later destroyed.
