As the Indian National Lok Dal workers have started converging at Ambala vegetable market before marching towards Punjab to dig Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal, the Punjab Police have sealed the Punjab and Haryana border.

Mounting tension is visible on both the sides of Punjab and Haryana border as police personnel are on their toes and in a state of high alert.

Haryana has deployed heavy force at Haryana side of Shambu Barrier, to stop the INLD workers from entering Punjab. The place where INLD supporters are gathering is some 2 km from Shambu barrier of Punjab.
To confront and oppose the INLD marchers, the activists of the All India Sikh Students Federation, have converged at Sanaur, a town of Patiala, where police have been deputed in heavy number to not let anyone reach Kapuri or Shambu.

{{/usCountry}}Punjab Police are expecting that INLD workers will conclude their public rally at 1.30 pm after which they will start their Punjab march.
The worry of Punjab police is in case Haryana police avoid acting tough with the INLD workers, the situation may take tense turn forcing Punjab to use force.
