Three more patients tested positive for H1N1

With the swine flu spreading its tentacles across the state, three more patients have been tested positive for H1N1 virus at Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (RPGMC) in Tanda and Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC).

With the swine flu spreading its tentacles across the state, three more patients have been tested positive for H1N1 virus at Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (RPGMC) in Tanda and Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC).


RPGMC medical superintendent Dr Dinesh Sood said that the two patients, one from Jogipur near Kangra town and one from Badsar area of Hamirpur district, were admitted to the hospital on Friday evening with symptoms of swine flu.

“The samples of both the patients have been tested positive for H1N1 virus and they have been kept in isolation ward in RPGMC,” he added.

He told that contacts of both the patients have been given medicine as precautionary measures. So far, eight persons have been tested positive for swine flu at RPGMC of which one died recently.

Meanwhile, confirming the test, IGMC senior medical superintendent Ramesh Chand said, “We had tested four samples on Saturday, out of which one has tested positive. The patient, Sandhira (45), from Panthaghati tested positive.”
