Tourist from Scotland, two men robbed

In back-to-back incidents of snatching, three persons, including a Scottish national, was robbed in Amritsar.

The tourist, identified as Rechel Whiteside, was going on a rickshaw when unidentified motorcyclists came and snatched her purse. The woman said she had Indian currency worth Rs 1,000, foreign currency and a bank card in her purse.

A case has been registered at the local Civil Lines police station in this regard.

In another incident, a person named Ashwani Kumar claimed that he was going on a rickshaw when two unidentified men on a motorcycle snatched his bag and ran away. The bag contained Rs 2.15 lakh, he claimed.

In yet another incident, a person, identified as Gopal, was allegedly robbed by four to five persons and cash around Rs 3,000 was snatched from him.
