Saket Kumar, deputy commissioner (DC)-cum-district electoral officer (DEO), claimed that the voting percentage in the Ambala (reserved) Lok Sabha constituency was expected to be 10% more than the last elections due to special voter awakening campaigns in the district.
As per the Election Commission's (EC) instructions, he said, more and more voters were registered in educational institutions and they were educated to use their franchise for electing a responsible and good government.
The DEO said several rallies were taken out in rural and urban areas of the district by schoolchildren; besides, painting, debates and slogan writing competitions were organised in various educational institutes to educate people about the importance of polling and casting of votes.
The DC, in a press note issued here, claimed that in order to awaken the voters about their franchise, stickers were pasted on nearly 1,000 auto rickshaws, with the help of their union, and also on buses to educate people to cast their votes on April 10.

{{/usCountry}}The DEO urged the voters to carry with them the slips distributed by the election department, which contains their name, polling station and serial number.
The voter should also carry their identity card such as election card, driving licence, Pan Card, passport or any other document identifying them so that no other person could cast vote on their behalf.
