Two booked on cow-slaughter charges

The accused identified as Parminder Singh and Kuldeep Singh, both residents of Ramgunj in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested with a tanker filled with cow fat from Ladowal in July.

The accused identified as Parminder Singh and Kuldeep Singh, both residents of Ramgunj in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested with a tanker filled with cow fat from Ladowal in July.

Ladowal police station sub-inspectior Amreek Singh said, “On July 25, Ladowal residents stopped a tanker near Ladowal, and found that two persons were carrying animal fat in it. Following this, the two were handed over to the police.”

“Police sent the samples of fat for examination and it was identified to be cow fat,” he said.

The SI said, “After proper investigation into the case, the accused have been booked under Section 429 (mischief by killing or maiming cattle, etc) of the IPC and Sections 3/5/8 of the Punjab Prohibition of the Cow Slaughter Act.”
