Two foreigners held for possessing illicit drug

Two foreigners were arrested for allegedly possessing MDA (3,4-Methylenedioxyamphetamine), an illicit drug, near Patlikuhal of Kullu district on Monday.

Two foreigners were arrested for allegedly possessing MDA (3,4-Methylenedioxyamphetamine), an illicit drug, near Patlikuhal of Kullu district on Monday.

The accused, Mathias, 32, a native of The Netherlands, and Maya, 20, a British national, were on their way from Kullu to Manali in a private taxi, when cops on patrolling duty detained the vehicle for checking. On frisking the duo, the cops recovered 165gm MDA from their possession. Besides, Rs 1.5 lakh and $2,433 were seized. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) has been registered.
