Bollywood legend Dharmendra, the winner of many a reel battle, has won a real one this time.

The prime culprits who had grabbed a portion of his ancestral land at Ajit Nagar, Haibowal (Ludhiana), in 2010 were arrested by the vigilance department on Thursday.

The duo, identified as Haibowal residents Rohit Kapila and Jaswant Singh, had allegedly used fake documents to grab half of the 2,600 sq-yard land owned by Dharmendra.

The actor's friend, Ghanshayam Lottey, who looks after his property, lodged a complaint at that time with the police. However, it took the police more than two years to crack the case.

Satinder Singh, senior superintendent of police (SSP, vigilance), Ludhiana, said a case had been registered against 12 persons on December 4. "Kapila and Jaswant were booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 420, 467, 468 and 471," he said.

Satinder said Kapila's partner Jaswant was able to get the power of attorney by procuring fake documents and managed to get the land transferred in Kapila's name.
