The Rohtak police, who investigated the CBSE's All-India Pre-Medical Entrance Test (AIPMT) paper leak case, are happy and satisfied with the Supreme Court verdict that the entire examination will have to be conducted afresh.
"The SC ruling is satisfactory. We are happy that we have stopped several munna bhais from become doctors and play with the lives of the people," Rohtak inspector general of police, Shrikant Jadhav, said, referring to the Sanjay Dutt-starrer film Munnai Bhai MBBS.
Jadhav said the verdict has further encouraged the Haryana Police to crack down on unethical conduct and added that police action culminating in scrapping of the test will increase people's faith in the policing system.
Jadhav, however, raised questions over the working of the CBSE, which had earlier denied allegations that answers were passed on to aspirants.
"Yes, from day one the CBSE was in denial and they were not ready to admit the allegations… in the beginning they did not even cooperate with the police for a fair probe," the top cop said.
"But during the investigation, we came to know that it was a big racket and working across the country. Then we started making arrests and managed to identify 44 beneficiaries, who had received the answers," Jadhav said, adding that investigations were still on and that police will continue the probe till they reached all the beneficiaries and the absconding master-mind, Roop Singh Dangi.

{{/usCountry}}When asked about involvement of CBSE officials in the racket, Jadhav said, "As of now we cannot accuse them, but we also cannot give them a clean chit… truth will come out after Dangi is arrested. Only Dangi can tell from where he got the question papers."
The police officer also put a question mark over the authenticity of the previous AIPMT exams saying during investigations, police had arrested two former toppers, who had secured MBBS seats in a reputed institute by unfair means.
"This is enough to show that many munna bhais might have got admissions to become doctor," Jadhav said, advising CBSE to improve the security which conducting the prestigious AIPMT exam.
