Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's lunch at New Delhi and Zardari's visit to Ajmer Sharif Dargah which shows improvement in the relations between the two countries has ignited hope in the wife of a BSF sepoy.
Soon after the meeting, Angrez Kaur, wife of Surjit Singh, a sepoy of Border Security Force (BSF) from Faridkot was encouraged and rushed to New Delhi to meet Ansar Burney, former Pakistan minister who worked for the repatriation of number of Indians from the Pakistan jails.
She hoped that Burney's efforts would be successful and her husband would be traced in Pakistan and repatriated to India to meet his family.
Angrez Kaur, who along with her only son, who was only one year old when her husband Surjit Singh a sepoy in the BSF was captured by Pakistan during the 1971 war, rushed to New Delhi last week to meet Ansar Burney former federal minister for human rights in Pakistan.
Both mother and son sought Ansar Burney's help in tracing Surjit Singh and his repatriation. Ansar Burney introduced the concept of the human rights and he is also known for securing release of large number of innocent Indian prisoners.

{{/usCountry}}Angrez Kaur after her return from New Delhi said that Ansar Burney assured her and her son Amrik Singh of tracing Surjit Singh and his repatriation.
Burney also told her that 53 war prisoners have already died and urns containing the ashes of these cremated prisoners of war still lying in Pakistan jails.
Angrez Kaur also stated that she had handed over the photographs and many other relevant documents to Burney to trace her husband. According to Angrez Kaur since the Indo Pak War she was praying for the good relations between both the countries so that her husband could be traced and repatriated. Now she is confident that in view of good relations between both the countries, efforts of Ansar Burney would bring fruitful result.
