The new Indian high commissioner to Pakistan, Ajay Basria, said that he would prepare a ground at the diplomatic level to normalise ties between the two countries.
Before leaving for the neighbouring country via the Attari-Wagah checkpoint, he paid obeisance at the Golden Temple and hoped that relations between both countries would improve.

Bisaria, a senior Indian diplomat and the 25th high commissioner to Pakistan, also visited the Partition Museum in Amritsar. Museum chief executive officer (CEO) Malika Ahluwalia was present.
The Border Security Force gave him a ceremonial guard of honour at Attari border. Basria is taking over from outgoing high commissioner Gautam Bambawale. Earlier, he was India’s envoy to Poland.
