Woman commits suicide; parents blame in-laws

Another married women committed suicide by allegedly hanging herself with ceiling fan at her residence in Ajit Nagar locality on Saturday. The police have booked in-laws for abetment of suicide on the complaint of parents of the deceased.

Another married women committed suicide by allegedly hanging herself with ceiling fan at her residence in Ajit Nagar locality on Saturday. The police have booked in-laws for abetment of suicide on the complaint of parents of the deceased.

The deceased identified as Kamaldeep Kaur was first noticed by her mother-in-law Amarjit Kaur, when she came back from the market, said police sources.

Amarjit Kaur in her statement has said that Kamaldeep was married to her son Gursharan Singh, who lives in Germany and deceased was depressed for the last few days as she failed to clear the mandatory IELTS test to go to Germany, police said.

However, mother of Kamaldeep, alleged that her daughter's in-laws were demanding dowry of Rs 10 lakh and harassing her, revealed police.

A case has been registered against in-laws of the deceased including Harnam Singh (father-in-law), Amarjit Kaur (mother-in-law) and Bunty (brother-in-law), police said adding that after thorough investigation in the case the accused would be arrested.
