Woman's kin allege murder for dowry

A day after a pregnant woman was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her room at Maggu Colony on Kakowal road, her family alleged that it was a murder and victim’s in-laws were trying to give it a colour of suicide. The kin also alleged that the postmortem report has confirmed several injury marks on her body.

Basti Jhodewal SHO inspector Randhir Singh said the police have not received the postmortem report yet. “We will add sections accordingly to the FIR as the probe progresses,” he said.

The police have booked her husband and his family members for dowry death on the complaint of her brother.
