Investigation officer (IO) ASI Malkit Singh said Ajmer Singh of the village had complained to the deputy director of the department of rural development and panchayat that he took panchayat land on lease for a year.

The IO said Ajmer had complained that he sowed wheat on the agricultural land and while the crop was ready for harvest, sarpanch Karamjit Kaur and her aides Gurmeet Singh, Gurjant Singh, Harchand Singh and Balvir Kaur passed a resolution in the panchayat for allotting plots on the land to the poor without taking his consent.

According to information, the panchayat department told the block development and panchayat officer to hold an inquiry into the matter.

During the inquiry, the officer concerned found that the wheat crop of the complainant was damaged with a plough and a room was constructed there.
